Candidates should have –
(a) a bachelor’s degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent;
(b) at least two years’ full-time post-qualification working experience, preferably in the environmental field; and
(c) met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 3” or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note).
Note: Grade C in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Duties:
(a) To assist in the administrative and meeting logistics coordination work, presentation materials preparation, databases and filing systems management as well as statistics compilation, etc.;
(b) To manage the Group’s administrative matters to ensure optimal use of financial resources and proper control of inventories;
(c) To assist in liaison with other government bureaux/ departments, project proponents and their consultants as well as relevant parties for handling enquiries and public comments;
(d) To assist in conducting site inspections and handling environmental planning and development proposals as well as lands applications; and
(e) To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisors.
Other Job-related Requirements: The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the department. Successful candidate may be required to (a) work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings, weekends, Sundays and public holidays; (b) work outdoors; and (c) work at remote locations.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one year.
Fringe Benefits
14 days paid annual leave will be granted to the successful candidate. The eligibility for rest days, statutory holidays (or substitute holidays), maternity / paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, is in line with those provided for under the Employment Ordinance. A gratuity may be granted at the end of the contract period if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary received during the contract period.

The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev.7/2023) has been in use with effect from 26 July 2023. Candidates who apply for Government jobs advertised on or after 26 July 2023 should use the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023). If candidates submit the old version form (G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.
