Candidates should -
(a) (i) have a degree in Accountancy from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; or
(ii) be a registered student of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Qualification Programme, or equivalent;
(b) have at least five years’ working experience in areas of accounting or auditing; and
(c) possess good oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English, with Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Grade C / Level 3 (Note 1) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), together with three other subjects at Level 2 or equivalent (Note 2) or above in HKDSEE or three other subjects at Grade E / Level 2 (Note 1) or above in the HKCEE, or equivalent.
(1) For appointment purpose, “Grade C” and “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” and “ Level 2” respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(2) For appointment purpose, “Attained with Distinction” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade C in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 3 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(a) to perform financial and accounting related duties such as financial/management accounting, financial system enhancements etc.;
(b) to perform research work on accounting standards and policies; and
(c) to supervise team members to perform accounting or related duties.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one year.
(a) Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave/paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance and the contract terms.
(b) The appointees will be subject to the provisions of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance and will be required to make employee’s contributions to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme.
(c) A gratuity may be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, when added to the Government’s contributions to the MPF Scheme, will be equivalent to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
(a)Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(e) Where a large number of candidates meet the specified entry requirements, the recruiting department may devise shortlisting criteria to select the better qualified candidates for further processing. In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend the selection interview.
(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to further shortlisting. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the enquiry address above. If candidates fail to provide the supporting documents as requested, their applications will not be considered.
(h) Towards the application deadline, our on-line system would likely be overloaded due to large volume of applications. To ensure timely completion of your on-line application, it is advisable to submit the application as early as possible.

Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centre of District Offices of the Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division of the Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed Application Forms, together with copies of (i) HKDSEE/HKCEE results; (ii) official transcripts and certificates of academic qualifications; (iii) certificates and examination status reports of professional qualifications; and (iv) documentary proof of relevant working experience, should reach the enquiry address of the recruiting department below on or before the closing date for application (The postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of submission of application). Please specify “Application for the post of Contract Assistant Accounting Manager” on the envelope. On-line application can also be made through the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Candidates who apply on-line MUST SUBMIT THE REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS as mentioned above to the address below ON OR BEFORE 13 MARCH 2020. The online application number should be quoted on the envelope and on every page of the copies of the documents. Please ensure that the delivery address on the envelope is correct and sufficient postage is paid if the completed application form and/or the required supporting documents are sent by post. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Department. An applicant will bear any consequences arising from not paying sufficient postage. Re-submissions will ONLY be considered if documentary proof showing that the application and/or the required supporting documents have been submitted to the Departmental Personnel Section of the Treasury on or before the deadline (e.g. proof of delivery of registered mail) can be provided on or before 20 March 2020.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements, applications which are late, incomplete or without the required supporting documents and applications submitted by fax or e-mail will NOT be considered.
Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about eight weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
